The December 2025 Maisteri LMS version update brings with it a variety of settings and improvements aimed at providing more flexibility and a smoother user experience. The release includes improvements to existing features, updates to Mediamaisteri's own plugins, and version updates to community plugins.
Several new settings have been added to the banner and image carousel. You can now specify the aspect ratio between the text box and the image, and choose whether the image is displayed to the right or left of the text. Accessibility is improved with a new button that allows users to stop the carousel from rotating automatically.
Improvements have been made to the category cards to help learners understand the big picture faster. Course cards can now display a progress bar, define the number of cards displayed side by side, and adjust the background and text colors of the category tree.
New ways to filter and present courses have been added to the customized course block. For example, the block can display the most recent courses, ongoing courses, or the user's favorite courses. In addition, a new setting makes it possible to hide the separate Go to course button on course cards.
The management of the number of courses to show has also been improved: all courses can be opened in the same view without restrictions.
Previously, progress tracking visibility in the course directory was only a site-level setting. In the December 2025 release, this can also be configured on a course-by-course basis. This supports the needs of different types of training: not all courses need follow-up, while in large modules it is an essential part of the learning experience.
With the block drawer, it is now possible to choose whether the block is closed by default or open after logging in. The block drawer is a side panel that opens on the right side of the learning environment, allowing users to open or close blocks as needed.
As a result of updated general security recommendations, all newly created manual accounts must comply with the new password requirement. The minimum password length is increased to 16 characters. The change is based on a widely adopted international recommendation aimed at improving password security.
